Autoimmune Disorders
In Ayurveda, autoimmune disorders are understood as conditions where the body’s Ojas (vital energy) and Agni (digestive fire) become imbalanced, leading to improper functioning of the immune system. This imbalance causes the body to mistakenly attack its own tissues, resulting in chronic inflammation, fatigue, and various systemic symptoms.
Ayurveda attributes the root cause to the accumulation of Ama (toxins) due to weak digestion and disturbed Tridoshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Conditions like rheumatoid arthritis (Aamavata), psoriasis, lupus, and thyroid disorders are seen as manifestations of this internal disharmony.
Treatment focuses on detoxification (Panchakarma), immune modulation with Rasayana therapy, and the use of herbs such as Guduchi, Ashwagandha, Turmeric, and Amalaki to cleanse toxins, strengthen Ojas, and restore natural immunity.
Through a holistic combination of diet, lifestyle correction, stress management, and herbal support, Ayurveda aims to bring the body back into balance and promote lasting health from within.
